The elves of the Heinzels Wintermärchen Christmas market enchant visitors until well into January. Here is a list of latest current opening hours:
Heinzels Wintermärchen:
24 November 2023 to 7 January 2024, daily from 11 a.m.
Alter Markt:
24 November to 23 December – closed 26 November – daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Heumarkt:
24 November to 7 January – closed 26 November & 24/25 December
open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., from 26 December from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Directions
Cologne’s Old Town is located in the centre of Cologne, approx. 200 metres from Cologne Cathedral.
Park + Ride:
We recommend using the Park+Ride car park on the edge of the inner-city when visiting the Christmas market.
By metro:
The Christmas market can be easily accessed from Cologne’s main train station or from the Heumarkt (lines 1, 5, 7, 9) and Rathaus (line 5) stations.
By car:
When in the inner city, be aware of the electronic car-park routing system, and use the Heumarkt, Groß St. Martin, Philharmonie or Dom parking buildings.
Christmas Market Express:
